[TIPS] My Nail-Care Routine

Hello guys. I'm back again with another post. I'm so excited to share with you some of my tips on my nail-care routine.

This routine is inspired by 'cutepolish' (my role-model in nails).

You're going to need:
  • A filer. (I have 2, specifically to file my nails and another one to shine my nails).
  • Nail cuticle-care moisturiser.
  • Nail towel cleanser.
  • Hand-cream.
  • Nail Top Coat Polish.
  • Nail Tools (Nail cutter).
Let's start with the first step.

1. Cutting your nails.
For me, cutting my nails isn't like singing 'A,B,C' but it's more difficult than you'd think. You must know what shape you would want to cut your nails. I like to cut them in a more rectangular shape (except for my pointer finger). It looks more clean and neat. I personally do not want to suggest round or oval-shaped nails. It's not that it looks bad, it just doesn't seem to work at most things. Especially when you want to carry things, your nails tend to bend because of its awkward curve on your nail.

Don't snap it off quickly. Try to do it as gently and slowly as possible. Don't rush into cutting your nails. If you're in a rush, you'd probably don't want to cut your nails first (unless your school rule says so). Cut your nails from the right, to the left. Don't ever start from the middle. It just creates more work. Try cutting it in a straight line, but a bit curvier.

2. Filing your nails.
Sometimes, when the shape that you just cut has some sharp ends or has an imperfect shape, it's good to file your nails every time you finish cutting your nails. The middle part is usually sharp (and the sides too), so keep filing them until they're in equal shape. It's good to have a straight curvy shape to avoid uncomfortableness.

Next, use your filer that works as a shiner and file it on top of your fingernail. It'll add a shine to it.

3. Cleanse your nails.
I'm using this affordable Chinese brand that I bought in Malaysia for $1.20 each. Using a nail towel cleanser, you're able to remove the residue from your nail instead of going to the sink and wash your hands with water and soap. It's more time consuming. Just wipe the towel around your nails three times before heading on with the next finger. You can use the same towel for all fingernails (unless your nails are dirty). Don't use to much or you'll waste the towels.

4. Moisturise your cuticle and nails.
The one I'm using is from Sally Hansen's Nail Cuticle Collection. I bought it from Watsons Singapore for only $20. Nail Cuticle costs really expensive and they're usually not cheap. This tool is to remove your dead skin/cuticle on your nail and to moisturise your nail at the same time. I find it really convenient to use this because it can do two tasks in one item! How cool is that? Oh and, it comes in cute circular tube in white and green swirls. The funny part is that they don't blend their colours, so no matter how many times you try to blend their colours together, it'll still stay the same.

Adding moisturiser will shine your nail ever better and it'll be a lot healthier.

5. Apply hand-cream.
The one I'm using here is Cyber Colour's Mango hand-cream. It's very moisturising for the fingers and the nails as well.  It cleans your finger tips properly and won't leave any sticky/dirty residue behind.

6. Apply Nail Top Coat Polish.
Last but not least, apply a generous amount of top coat onto your almost-perfect nails. Make sure to put thin coats, not thick coats. It'll turn out really sticky and it won't dry as fast. Then, you're done!

Thank you for reading my post. :D I hope it helps you guys. Oh and, if you want to maintain your perfect nails, do this routine at least twice a week. :)
