[REVIEW] Innisfree Bija Trouble Facial Foam Cleanser

Hey guys!! I'm back with another skin care review and this time, it's from the popular Korean drugstore brand, Innisfree.

Description:
This refined, foamy lather thoroughly cleanses pores while preventing and relieving skin trouble. This cleanser contains natural ingredients, such as salicylic acid, to remove dead skin cells and treat skin problems.

This cleanser claims that it is suitable for oily, acne-prone skin, which I have. So let's give it a test!

Review

Quite frankly, I am very disappointed in this cleanser. For the first 2 days, it did clear my skin up a little bit (just a little bit), but right after 2 days of using this cleanser, my skin started breaking out a lot. I also want to add that I did not use any new skin care products besides the Innisfree Bija Cica Gel, which is also in the same line as the cleanser.
I had big pimples forming around my chin, temples, cheeks and forehead within 4 days. It didn't do anything else besides cleansing my skin. On top of that, my skin condition became worse.

I'm not exactly sure what caused my skin to react badly to this cleanser as it has received numerous positive feedback from many bloggers and vloggers online. I guess not all highly rated products work for everyone and this cleanser proves that. I was expecting so much from this product due to the positive reviews it had received, but unfortunately, it was a huge let-down.

However, my skin does feel very clean afterwards, but I have stopped using this cleanser after it made my skin breakout.

I will be giving this cleanser to my mom for her to test out if it breaks out on her as well and see if there are any results.

Overall

Honestly, I would not want to recommend this cleanser to anyone, but if you've tried it and it works well for you, go ahead. If you want to try this cleanser, do it at your own risk because it might not work for you, but it might also work for you. There are much better facial cleansers out there for oily, acne-prone skin that costs less than this. Better safe than sorry.

[REVIEW] Nature Republic Aqua Super Aqua Max Moisture Watery Cream

Hi everyone! I'm back with another skin care review and this time, it's a Nature Republic moisturizer!

Nature Republic is known for their popular Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel and a couple of their snail skin care line.
This product has been out in the market for quite a while, but I picked this up recently because I love trying out different skin care products to see which skin care product suits my skin the best.

Description:
It is a high-performance hydrating cream which infuses extract moisture and refreshment back to skin with an energizing complex of deep sea minerals from maritime plants while extract of chlorella, seaweed, plankton, and water-soluble collagen and hyaluronic acid helps to strengthen skin's ability to defend itself against external aggressors and dehydration.

Price range: $12USD-$17USD (depending on which website you're buying it from)
Size: 80ml

Review

I actually enjoyed using this product a lot, surprisingly. I have not heard a lot of reviews of Nature Republic products as there are so many K-Beauty brands out there, overshadowing Nature Republic and some other older K-Beauty brands.
This product felt quite light on my skin, but my skin still felt moisturized and soft after using this product a couple times. It's not a heavy duty, rich moisturizer so if you have dry skin, you might feel as if this moisturizer might be too light for you, but this product is more targeted towards normal to oily skin.

Moreover, I love the consistency as it has a gel to creamy texture. It absorbs well into the skin, leaving the skin with a 'glow-from-within' kinda of finish. It also has a slight floral scent, but it's quite subtle and I don't think it will irritate your skin (unless you are sensitive to scents in your products). The product says 'watery', but it is not at all watery, which is very odd.
It didn't break me out, so that's definitely a good sign, because my skin is sensitive to some particular ingredients from certain skin care products. Another pro is that this moisturizer is affordable and this retails for less than BND$15 (US$12)!

In addition, my skin felt super soft and supple after using this product as well! However, if you have dry skin, this product might be too light for you. Layer this product if you do have dry to combination skin. Just a heads up. Those who have normal to oily skin will have no problem using this product. Also, if you are allergic to scents, your skin might get irritated after using this because it does have a slight scent to it. The scent is not strong at all, but you can definitely tell that there's a light scent.
(after applying the cream)

Also, it comes with a tub, so it's not the most convenient type of packaging, because it involves dipping your finger in the product to get the product. Plus, it's heavy, so this product is not really travel-friendly and light.

Overall, this product performed pretty well, especially for its price point. Nature Republic do have great moisturizers and gel products so I understand why this product performed well in the first place.

Overall

However, it isn't a 'life-changing' product and it's definitely not the best moisturizer in the K-Beauty world. There are definitely more products you can find that perform much better and leaves your skin super moisturized and supple compared to this product. I would say though that this product did its job and did not disappoint. But if you're looking into a more affordable option and you just want a good and safe moisturizer, this could be a good choice.

Hi everyone! It's been 2 months since I last blogged and I'm finally back!

Review

I am very happy and glad to say this, but I am very impressed with this palette. I heard and have read many wonderful things about ColourPop's eyeshadow formulas from beauty gurus to friends. I am excited to say that they're all right about that.

First of all, all the eyeshadows were really pigmented! Even the matte shades were absolutely pigmented! Secondly, the formula of the eyeshadows were super buttery and smooth. The eyeshadows were super soft and creamy as well. All the eyeshadows were also really easy to blend, which is always a plus.

Moreover, the colour scheme on this palette is absolutely stunning. The colours fit so well together and you can definitely create numerous looks with these eyeshadows. This palette is perfect. Why? Because it has transition shades, shades for the crease, inner-corner highlight shade, brow bone shade and several shades of metallics and mattes. This palette comes with warm-toned oranges and browns, mauves, plums and pinks.
(I created a simple halo golden, orangey-look.)

Furthermore, the eyeshadows did not fade or crease too much throughout the day, which I'm very impressed with because some of my other eyeshadows have the tendency to do that. As long as an eyelid primer or concealer is applied onto the lid before applying these eyeshadows, it'll last for a very long time and will not crease badly.

However, the shade 'Frank' caused a lot of fall-out, which can get very messy. When I tapped my brush after dipping into Frank, some of the fall-out sprinkled onto my rug, and it was a lot! I'm concerned that this eyeshadow will run out very quickly.

I'm grateful that the palette is made of a more glossy material, so the palette will not get messy and it is much easier to clean the palette compared to if it was made out of a more matte material.

Unfortunately, this palette does not have a mirror in it, which is a little inconvenient for most users, but it does not really bother me personally.

Overall

I highly, highly recommend this palette, especially those who love their warm tones, mauve-y and orange-y shades. Even if you're on a budget or not, you will love this.

[REVIEW] The Face Shop Concealer Liquid Veil in V201

Hey guys! I'm back again with another blogpost. I think I need to work on my introduction of this blog because I seem to be repeating the same sentence every time I post.
Anyway, The Face Shop's Liquid Veil Concealer is one of the brand's best-selling product (with the exception of the Dual Veil Concealer).
It is said to be a lightweight, blend-able concealer that brightens the under-eyes. Let's test this out to see if it's worth the hype or not.
I have to say, I'm quite impressed with this concealer. It blends really well and spreads very evenly on the skin. It does not sit on the skin, like many other concealers out there and it really matches my skin really well.
It has a slight yellow undertone to it, but even those who has cool tones can definitely use this concealer because my skin tone is a NC15 (neutral-cool, fair).

The consistency is also quite decent and very lightweight. It has a really nice and pleasant creamy consistency, which makes it much easier to blend. It doesn't feel heavy or sticky on the skin, which is a plus. It also doesn't oxidise or form dry patches throughout the day.
It has a pretty decent amount of coverage. I have to say, it's about light to medium coverage. It doesn't have full coverage but it does have a decent coverage. I do still see my acne peeking out a little bit even after applying the first layer so I did a second layer so that it's fully covered.

Another pro is that it's build-able and you can keep on layering the concealer as much as you like and it won't look cakey or dry (unless your skin is already dry, then of course the finish would be quite dry).
It also looks really natural and has a bit of a dewy-finish, not matte.

Unfortunately, it does not last for a very long time. By the end of the day, I can see a bit of the concealer has faded away and there's a bit of creasing going on around my under eye but it's not too obvious or noticeable.
In addition to that, the size of the concealer is quite small. On the plus side, this concealer is very affordable.

Price: RM31.50
Store Location: The Face Shop branches, KoreaDepart, HermoMy, TheFaceShopMy, Amazon
Size/Amount of Product: 5,8g/0.20oz
Would I repurchase it? I would, because it's easy to access in my country, affordable and it was so easy to blend this concealer, plus it has a pretty decent amount of coverage.

Pros:
-very easy to blend
-creamy
-affordable
-suitable for all skin types
-easy to access to my country
-decent coverage
-build-able/layering is possible
-natural finish
-lightweight

Cons:
-shade availability is low
-not full coverage
-not long-lasting

Overall Comment:
It's a pretty good product as the pros outnumbered the cons on the performance on this product. It is very creamy, blends like a dream, decent coverage and lightweight. Best part about this concealer is that it's affordable and easy to access (in some countries, not all).

[SWATCHES/REVIEW] ColourPop Ultra Satin Lips + Lippie Stix (6 shades!!)

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another blogpost of mine! And yes, another ColourPop blogpost. :) Don't judge.
You guys probably know I love myself some ColourPop lippies and I technically buy their lipsticks 5 times a year (I'm obsessed). No one can blame me because their lipsticks are excellent.

I've already reviewed the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lipsticks on my last ColourPop review: click here.

Ultra Satin Lipsticks

1. Calypso

It is a beautiful mid-tone pink that is perfect for the fall and winter seasons. This is by far my favourite shade ColourPop has ever released and I might actually repurchase this again if I ever finish this lipstick. Unfortunately, this stained my lips and left a red-ish wine colour on my lips when I was trying to remove it with a makeup remover.

Rating:

2. Screenshot

This lipstick is a beautiful nude deepened-peach shade that is great for the spring and summer seasons. It is perfect for everyday wear and it's not too dark or light. It compliments a lot of skin tones, especially those who are pale and fair.

Rating:

Pros:
-not drying
-full coverage/very pigmented
-quite long-lasting
-comfortable
-not sticky
-affordable
-lightweight
-does not transfer

Cons:
-expensive shipping fees (international)

Overall Comment:
This is by far my third favourite formula for liquid lipsticks. It's easy easy to apply, does not transfer, dries down beautifully, not drying, not sticky, full coverage and quite long-lasting. Best part about it is that it's affordable.

Lippie Stix

1. Cami
This is my favourite lippie stix ColourPop has ever released and it's a stunning matte cool-toned mauve pink shade that suits a lot of skin tones. It's suitable for all seasons and a great pop of colour for an everyday look. It appears to be darker in real life compared to the photos here.

Rating:

2. Chateau
This shade is a very bold and dark shade, matte blackened red, berry plum shade. It's great for the fall and winter seasons. If you feel like the most confident person ever and you just want to kill everyone with your looks, wear this. This actually stained my lips and left an awkward red-ish wine colour stain on my lips after trying to remove it with makeup remover (similar to Ultra Satin Lips in Calypso). You can visibly see that the edges of my lips have a red-ish wine colour, which is quite strange, but still, a very stunning colour.

Rating:

3. Poppin

It is a very bright and vibrant matte raspberry shade that is sure to catch everyone's attention. It's perfect for the spring and summer time and definitely makes you look more younger and youthful. This was a very bold choice for me as I always go for neutral to dark lipsticks but, I just wanted to get out of my comfort zone this year. Nevertheless, really gorgeous and vibrant colour.

Rating:

Pros:
-comfortable
-does not transfer
-not drying
-long-lasting
-creamy
-easy and smooth application
-glides on beautifully
-full coverage

Cons:
-expensive shipping fees (international)
-limited amount of product

Overall Comment:
Absolutely love this formula. It's the creamiest lipstick from ColourPop, very comfortable on the lips, easy to apply and full coverage.

Lippie Stix (Creme)

1. Sure Thing
It is a gorgeous Creme warm beige with a hint of baby pink that's very suitable for an everyday look. It's great for all seasons and compliments the skin very well. The new formula for this lipstick is absolutely amazing and it's like wearing a lip balm. Unfortunately right after I finished eating my meal, it was completely gone. Not even a hint of colour on my lips. It was quite disappointing, but very expected nevertheless, because hey, it's not a liquid lipstick. I just thought this was a little too nude for ColourPop's 2017 Valentine's Day Collection (because it should mostly consist of reds, pinks and oranges but hey, who am I to judge?).

Pros:
-comfortable
-very moisturising (feels like lip balm on the lips)
-gorgeous colour
-affordable
-lightweight
-not drying
-easy and smooth application
-glides on beautifully

Cons:
-transfers
-not long-lasting
-limited amount of product

Overall Comment:
I love this lipstick a lot, because it's the perfect nude lipstick that is moisturising and very comfortable on the lips. However, it doesn't last long and transfers.
