[REVIEW] NYX Wicked Lippie in 'Envy'

Hey guys! I am back with another blog post on a review on NYX's Wicked Lippie in Envy.

I was quite hesitant when I purchased this because it was in blue and I don't know if I can rock the blue lip colour. I also originally wanted to get the one in 'Cold-Hearted', which is a metallic greyish-black shade but it was sold out so I got this instead.
The packaging again looks like their Lip Butter packaging collection.
Looks very pigmented from the packaging but...
It wasn't that pigmented when I applied it onto my hand or lips. This is how it looks like:

  • Review:
Not so fond of the pigment but the colour was great, I guess. It has a very nice metallic finish when I applied it, but it's so hard to blend it onto my lips, unfortunately. I had such a high expectation for this product but it didn't work so well for me.

I actually applied lip balm before using this lipstick (are you supposed to do that?). I thought it felt quite slippery and too smooth. I applied directly from the lipstick and then used a brush, but when I used the brush, the colour just suddenly disappear so I had to reapply it again, which was quite irritating.

It's a bit too sheer for my liking and it's not as pigmented as I thought. I wished it was or I would give a higher rating but it didn't impress me that much. Also, it's not build-able.
I am not sure when am I going to use this lipstick, definitely not casual or an everyday-look. I just bought this because it looked interesting. Maybe it could be like a Halloween look. I'm just guessin'.

  • How to apply it onto your lips?
-Just use it directly onto your lips or use a lip brush to get that precise look. It takes time and patience so please do it carefully.

  • Where can you purchase this product?
-Target (anywhere that does have Target), Ulta, Walmart, Sephora, etc.

  • How much was it?
-AU$13.95 (I bought it in Australia, but it's so much cheaper in the U.S)

Overall Comment:
I wished it was more pigmented, not sheer and not too slippery. If you want to use this product, you have to not only apply it with 2 coats but over 5 coats to get that really beautiful metallic cobalt blue colour on your lips. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this product as because it takes up a lot of work, but if you're willing to try it, go ahead. I will still use this product but not all the time.

Rating: 2.5/5
