[REVIEW] The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Control Essence

Hey guys! I am back with another blogpost. It's been 3 weeks since I posted something here because I was sitting for my tests. I hope it wasn't too long. I apologise for that.
Anyway, I actually purchased this product 2 months ago and finished it within a month time, since it's such a small bottle (40ml). The cap/cover looked a little bit funny, but I just ignored that.

This was recommended by a saleslady when I told her I needed a product that can treat my skin, moisturise but not too rich at the same time because I do have oily skin. It sounded like a perfect product because it says 'treats oily or problem skin quickly and effectively'.

  • Review:
This product absorbs into my skin very well. It doesn't give a glow-y or dewy type of finish, it actually has like a semi-matte finish, which I desperately need.

In order to test, I apply this on during the day before I head to school and then, after 6 hours I would touch my nose to see if there is any oily residue but there wasn't any oily residue. It's like I applied primer beforehand.

It was quite impressive. My face didn't feel oily anymore. When you pump it onto your hand, it has this liquid-y essence, like a moisturiser, but when you apply it, it absorbs into the skin really quickly and leaves the skin feeling moisturised, yet it's oil-free.

People with oily or combination skin will find this product heavenly because our skin has to be moisturised despite the oiliness and yet, it doesn't make your face oily, which is amazing.

But, it didn't do much for my skin. It didn't make my pimples any smaller or bigger or heal any scars (well, it's not supposed to do that so...). It just moisturises the skin without the oiliness.

  • How to apply it onto the skin/face?
-Instead of directly applying it onto the face, pump a penny sized amount and dab it onto every part of the face (forehead, side of forehead left and right, nose, both sides of the cheek, chin, cupid's bow and neck). You don't need a lot of product.

  • Where can you purchase this product?
-The Face Shop, any branch stores in most parts of Asia.

  • How much was it?
-$19.90 (before 10% member discount, if you've got a member card, it's $17.92)

Overall Comment:
I am technically not in love with this product. It's not the type of product that I will go crazy about, and I won't re-purchase it because I don't really need it. My skin care routine is okay without this product but to those who needs intense hydration but doesn't want any oiliness, this is a suitable product for you. The price also is pretty affordable but some people will find it quite costly because of its content but I think it's not bad.
